Empower yourself through self-sufficiency and connection to nature

THE WORLD WE LIVE IN

The world that we live in provides us with so much (too much) and yet not enough all at the same time.

We walk into supermarkets with so much choice, (most items covered in some sort of single-use plastic),

-buy too much food and end up wasting $$$ and kgs of food when food scarcity and security is becoming a reality

-have 1000s of $$$ worth of purchased items in our homes that are sat and not used at all

-have clothes sitting in our wardrobes that need mending or we keep even though they don't fit us anymore.

We have more access to different places in the world, yet spend less time in the beauty of natural landscapes.

We, as individuals, as families, our children are doing more activities in a day however not really being active or present in those activities, and anxiety, depression and suicide are at a higher rate than in previous decades.

We are forgetting that we throw away the value of items when we throw things away.  We lose the value of an item if it sits unused in our cupboard and we waste the value of our time when we fill it meaninglessly.

I don't make these statements, to bring you woe. There is hope and...

YOU ARE THE PROTAGANIST

The fact that you are on this page, reading this, means that the message above resonates, so you are already wanting to do something about your waste and overconsumption, and engage consciously in an eco or mind-based manner.

I know I am already preaching to the converted here, but you may still require some assistance and there are always opportunities to improve.

So come along and check out...

THE DREAM

Community Garden

Charlotte, the founder of Earth Child Sydney has an idyllic dream. She has found her purpose in repurposing, and endeavors to upskill more people to be self-sufficient, in terms of:

  • Repurposing and reducing their waste,

  • Regrowing and reusing food scraps

  • Creating with the resources we have to hand

  • unlearning and relearning unhelpful belief patterns through mindfulness and conscious practices, that are accessible to all regardless of age or socioeconomic status

The end goal is that people have more respect for the planet Earth, and an understanding of the reciprocal relationship we have with the ecosystems around us.which in turn breeds respect for ourselves, as we ARE nature and a part of the ecosystems.
